Fennel Seeds

Fennel seeds are the dried seed of the fennel herb, and look like cumin seeds.
This seed pairs well with basil, cloves and oregano.
It can be used on its own or in spice mixes such as Chinese five-spice powder and Indian panch-phoran. It has an aniseed flavour and a warm, sweet aroma and is used for cooking, baking and medicinal purposes. It is traditionally used in both savoury and sweet dishes.
